Just to let you know, I wasn't judging the e-mail one way or another.
I personally don't know how much power Jeb or George Bush have.
I heard Jeb Bush say that he can't change what the courts rule.

I don't know enough about US law, but it would seem to me that what they said in the e-mail, borders on character assassination.
Can people go around calling others murderers? Especially people who have as much influence as Michael Peroutka.
