I've been very saddened to find how many disciples Blackaby has. It boggles my mind to find people that consider me heretical because I deny what Blackaby teaches. Imagine! I try to make the point made above and am accused of being unspiritual.
Another thing I often encounter is the rebuttal that the Spirit illuminates Scripture in a personal sense. This taken to mean that someone's personal interpretation of a verse is inspired over and above the 'general' interpretation arrived at via the Historical/Grammatical hermeneutic.
