William says,

By faith in the covenant of particular election knowing that whatsoever God does is right, not presuming their salvation but raising them as if they were the Lords. The other option is to raise them believing that they are heathen.
William,

Until a child gives evidence of salvation then we are to treat them as lost: (1) we understand that they are lost (Psa 51:5) for there are “none righteous, no not one” (Rom. 3:10-12), (2) we pray for their conversion for salvation belongeth unto the Lord (Psa 3:8; 53:6; etc.), and (3) continue to explain the cross evangelistically, (Psa. 40:10; Rom. 1:16; 10:9-10), “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12), etc. Even Timothy was not presumed as a seed of the woman but was instructed in the Lord so he may be “wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15). There is not a need of these things for the saved as they are suppose to mature on from the first principles of Christ, or as some put it, “improve upon their baptism.”
