It is certainly unlikely that anyone will ever manage to live a perfect life, but we should hold out the possibility and use that as a goal to strive for. AJC, this is a very interesting thought from the quoted atheist. As Christians, we have news for this unbeliever. Such a person did live a perfect life and we crucified Him for His trouble. This reminds me of another quote from Calvin's Institutes: The reasoning of the philosophers is excellent, except that God's revelation of the changed or corrupted nature of man is withheld from them.
