This group had its heydey back in the 1980s, riding the crest of the wave of the charismatic movement. I haven't heard much about them lately, and I imagine they have dwindled in number and influence although there is obviously an organization still intact. I suspect that the FGBMFI, like the charismatic churches that fed into it, simply burned out their members with their "can you beat this?" mentality, the excessive and burdensome demands and expectations of spiritual experience, walking in victory, etc. and the constant hype and hoopla from the pulpit. Even the most ardent charismatic can only endure so much of that.
