The reason I raise the question is that, not everybody who is unregenerate and unsaved is cruel and murderous as some of the verses in the Old Testament describe them to be. I personally get frustrated with those who I consider to be especially wicked.

For example, the other night, my son and I were enjoying a great game of tennis on a public court, when a carload of youths drove by and screamed out several expletives at us. We were not bothering them, or for that matter, even paying any attention to them, and yet they felt the need to call us several vulgar names. I told my son at the time that someday God will cast such wicked sinners into hell. It made me think of the many references in the Old Testatment of "the wicked."
