I guess my only point was, not that we shouldn't use other arguments, but that our primary proof for the existence of God should be Scripture. Would you agree with that? Do you think that since Romans was written to fellow Christians, Paul was arguing with his audience in mind?
John,

I am affirming the sole and final authority of God's inspired, infallible written Word. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/BigThumbUp.gif" alt="" /> Let there be no mistake about that. When I read that portion of Romans, unless I am missing something, Paul states that God's existence (the one true God) IS KNOWN inherently by all men because God has manifest His existence IN them. And secondly, he states that the natural creation testifies to God's existence, i.e., His eternal deity and godhead..... THUS they are without excuse. In short, without the inspired written Word, ALL men know God (His existence) and are held accountable for being knowledgeable of His existence.

It is upon this truth that we hold to our presupposition of God's existence to which the Bible also testifies and expands upon in great detail. We cannot argue for much more using the natural creation for all that is to be known concerning God, salvation, etc., is contained in God's self-revelation in Christ and in His written Word.

In His grace,
