I too find nothing in scripture to justify any distinction between "ruling elders" and "teaching elders the way Presbyterians do, especially in practice much less "on paper."

While I can appreciate the "first among equals" sort of thing as "moderator of the Session" or "spokesperson" for the group of elders, I have yet to see Presbyterian polity actually work in practice as I think it was intended, and certainly not in accordance with Jesus' description of the office as "servant of all."
