PM me your e-mail address and I can send you a MS Word document (170 pages or so) from the BNTC series.

Joe (or anyone else who happens to know)--

Thank you for the forward of the commentary. I have been using it in a Bible Study I'm in going over James. It's been good to use. But could you please tell me who the author is of the commentary (it doesn't seem to be written anywhere in the pages I have). I'm not familiar with the BNTC series - could you tell me what exactly this acronym is?? Thanks again!!

Hands down, D. Edmond Heibert's treatment. I have found no other commentary on the book of James that is so well outlined, thorough and informative.

Other commentators of note for the book of James:
Doug Moo
Homer Kent
and of course my pastor, John MacArthur

Oh! What a nice surprise to find out that I've been reading some of Hendricksen's commentary without even knowing it!! Well that's nice to know since I was asking about that in the other thread.

One more question. I have a commentary on James from William Barclay. Heard of him?? Where is he coming from?

James was actually finished by Kistemaker, but he did have the notes and meetings with Hendriksen, et.al.

Barclay. Well this little artcile (I AM A CONVINCED UNIVERSALIST) may help you [Linked Image]

Wow, I'm glad I asked that question! Thanks for the heads up on Barclay. I'm going to show that to my small group because that's one of the commentaries we've been using to study James with. I wonder what else Barclay says he believes in his spiritual autobiography?? I can only guess!
