Hello all,
I know I haven't been around lately, not that I haven't wanted to be, just a time management problem on my part. I've got a situation that I'm not sure how to handle, maybe I do know how to handle it, but need a second opinion.
I've been attending a Baptist church over the last year, the pastor is a friend of our family. His children and my daughter are very close. His parents and my husband have known each other for many, many years.
The church is very small, both in size and numbers, and the children who attend number roughly 9, 6 of which are the pastor's. Since there is only the one room, a portion of the entire service is a lesson for the children, not really children's church, more like a condensed Sunday school, which is also heard by the adults. The pastor's wife is the teacher.
Yesterday, I heard her tell the children that 'we don't sin, we make mistakes, and God knows they are mistakes and we didn't MEAN to do it'. Then during the message, which was 'winning the lost' the same theme came across and the first point to winning the lost was not to sin. Good thing I carry a spritual fire extingusher with me because at that point my hair burst into flames!! This is not my position, very far from it. It would seem to me, that claiming to be sinless would further divide the lost fromt the saved, not to mention that it is completely contrary to what Scripture teaches us.
So now what to do. Part of me wants to run away as quickly as I can, but there's another part that tells me to face the situation head on, and tell the pastor as kindly as I can, that he has left the narrow road and has hit the ditch.
Suggestions, thoughts, comments?
On another note, the Bible study he is conducting is dealing with the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of the Lord, are they the same, or are they different. I've not heard of this before, maybe some one can point me to some reading material??
Thanks in advance for you help.

First of all make sure the fire in your hair is completely extenguished and then discuss your concerns with your husband. Ask him if he notices these errors also and what he thinks you should do as a family.
I think you already know what else you should do.

Thanks, Wes,
My husband does not attend church with me, nor does he attend without me. He has come a long way since the early days, and will ask about church and will listen, but he stops at advising me on 'church' things.
Keep me in your prayers, for timing, and humility, and a kind and gentle spirit (especially this one).
Thanks so much for your comments.
God Bless,
Hannahsmom

Susan/Hannahsmom,
I will keep you in my prayers even as you have requested. May God bless you as you work through these issues. I will pray that He gives you the necessary grace and wisdom too.
Wes
