Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." Janice Rodgers Brown
"My grandparents' generation thought being on the government dole was a disgraceful, a blight on the family honor. Today's senior citizens blithely cannibalize their grandchildren because they have a right 'free' stuff as the political system will permit them to extract." Janice Rodgers Brown

Thanks for introducing me to Judge Janice Rodgers Brown. I like what I've read in the material you've provided because she (like Reagan) is well informed historically and sees things clearly. She does seem to have some of the same whit, wisdom, and communication skills of our former President. Truly we need more like her in our court system.
Bush named her to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit this court has been the stepping stone for judges to go to the Supreme Court.
I used to go to her church (Church of Christ - link) about four or five years ago before I left it and started going to a Reformed church. She was a California State Supreme Court Justice at the time.
I remember her and the minister co-taught a Sunday school adult class series called "Politics and the Fall of Man". She covered the secular/political side and the preacher applied the scripture. I always wondered if it was scriptural for a woman to be teaching a class with men in attendance. I don't think it was.
Today there is an increasing number who can't see a fat man standing beside a thin one without automatically coming to the conclusion the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one.-- Ronald Reagan
