Hey everone,

I'm taking an NT Survey and something that the professor said kinda bugged me. The thing that is nawing at me is this, he refers to the KJV as

"The authorized, inspired, King James version"

I'm wondering, is this a view that is held by many, that the english translation of the KJV is the only inspired Word of God, and not the origianal manuscripts? Are there not other translations that are 'inspired'? What about other contries, are thier translations not 'inspired'?

Blessings in Christ,
Matthew

Who do Business on great Waters;
They have seen the Works of the LORD,
And His Wonders in the Deep."

Matthew,

Your professor's view is definitely in the minority. While it is true there are a number of so-called translations these days that hardly deserve to be read, the KJV is not flawless. The original Greek and Hebrew words are what are inspired.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified.

Matthew, his quote "The authorized, inspired, King James version" rings of King James onlyism.

But providing that his doctrine is sound I suggest being gracious to the guy and thankful that you have a teacher/professor that believes he has the word of God.
