do we miss going to heaven when we sin as born again christians?

I have talked to many people about our sins and even those deliberate sins we might do like adultery, stealing, smoking, lieing, looking at prono, disobedient by not obey the law of the land and etc.
They say a person can't go to heaven when they sin, and specially when they sin on purpose knowing that Gd will forgive them.
I would like to get other view on this .
The bible teaches that when we reject Jesus as our Lord ,is the only way to lose our salvation, and to be a reprobate against knowing God , and that would stop us from going to heaven.
But we can talk about this and more here.

Thank you

But, if I clearly taught elsewhere that repentance/belief alone was sufficient no one would think coming forward is necessary for salvation,or water baptism is necessary for salvation.

Those who are born-again (regenerated) will not lose their salvation, even if they are horrific sinners. When we become Christian, we become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)and God dwells in us. However, our fleshly sinful nature is still around, though changed. Meaning that though our nature has changed, we still have to battle our fleshly desires. See 1 John 1:9-10 where John says we are liers if we do not think that we are sinners.

At justification. When we are justified we are made right with God at that point in time. All our past, present and future sins will be forgiven. Positionally we are His.

Wasn't that done at the cross, and all our past ,present and future sins were forgiven then?
Also because Christ became righteous for us we are just ,righteous and holy now.
Ro:5:19: For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

So now we are the righteousness of God according to the scriptures and not a sinner saved by grace.

That is good ! Amen!
So do just and righteous christians go to hell when they sin?
If a person has a adicted problem with sex ,alcohol ,drug and are born again christian would they go to hell because they have not ended their addictions?
Do they be called not really born again when they fall 70 time 70 even in the same sins?

Hi there,

Well, I'm not sure you are asking this because you already know, or because you *want* to know the answer...

But logically, if our works did not save us, and we are saved by the blood of Christ, and we are truly saved, then our sins won't send us to hell if we die. There are some out there that believe that when we get saved, we are sanctified wholly, and thus it is impossible to sin, or the sin nature is eradicated. That's not true of course. We do sin, and even before salvation if we break one point of the law we break them all because the same One who wrote one law wrote them all. So after we are saved, one sin is not greater than another when we are talking about committing a sin. The natural consequences of course are varied, and our deeds will be judged by the Lord, but it won't make us lose salvation.

Your question of "do just and righteous christians go to hell when they sin?" There is no such thing really is there? Our justification and righteousness are "imputed" to us. It is not ours. Jesus *gives* us, or imputes it to us when we are saved. It is all His work and none of ours. So every person who is truly saved is justified and righteous because it has been imputed to them.

The following link gives a good, simple explanation between what Christ accomplished and applied to us.

Quote
All who were chosen by God, redeemed by Christ, and given faith by the Spirit are eternally saved. They are kept in faith by the power of Almighty God and, thus, persevere to the end. Therefore, salvation is wholly dependent upon the God who has willed to save those whom He gave to His dear Son. Their salvation can never be lost. The elect are kept by God's power through faith, and nothing can separate them from His love. They have been sealed with the Holy Spirit who has been given as the guarantee of their salvation, and they are thus assured of an eternal inheritance. This doctrine does not maintain that all who profess the Christian faith are certain of heaven. Many who profess belief and then fall away do not fall from grace; they were never in grace. True believers fall into various temptations and commit grievous sins, but these sins do not cause them to lose their salvation or separate them from Christ.

Although Mheath gave you the long and correct answer the short answer is this: No they do not go to hell. ALL their sins were paid for at the cross they were declared not guilty and so no sin after they have become truly regenerated will condemn them and send them to hell.

Changed behavior is the best evidence of a changed heart. It is the result of regeneration, not a qualification for it.

But I would say that if outward behavior continues in a lifelong pattern of habitual rebellion over dozens of years, sucha person would be wise to question their own salvation.

I agree of course. However, from recent podcast of the White Horse Inn I've heard many different Christians make comments that would deny the efficacy of Christ's sacrifice and suggest that only by continued good works is your salvation secured.

I have heard this also and too much at that.
This is also many religion concept like for instance the RCC view, that is why they don't know if they are saved yet, and are getting save.
