Well, somebody has to bring this up, so it may as well be me. What do the rest of you think about the suspension of Peter Enns. Relztrah

Relztrah, You might find this review interesting. Paul Helm discusses Peter Enns book and points out it's short comings which are causing this controversy which cost him his job. I haven't read this book. However, I have seen professors like Peter Enns write books like this one which create controversy within the church. He certainly isn't the first professor to be terminated from Westminster Seminary over his controversial views. Maybe someone can tell me how we should govern these profs to prevent these kind of events. Wes

Like Wes, I haven't read Enns' book, but I have read Paul Helms' review and some other reviews and blogs on this individual and his controversial book. My opinion is that WTS did the right thing, although it could have been more expedient in its decision. It seems that we are living in a time which is similar, albeit a little less so than what was going on in the mid-1800's when the Church was faced with a plethora of heretical teachings, both from without and within. And we all know the results..... ala: Evangelicalism. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/drop.gif" alt="" />

The Metodological Implications of Peter Enn's Inspiration and IncarnationFrom the link: "The following paper was written by Westminster Theological Seminary Professors Jeffrey K. Jue and Lane G. Tipton. It is posted here with their permission. In addition, Richard Gaffin and Scott Oliphint have signed on to the document expressing their agreement with it. The opening paragraph gives the relevant context for their argument."
