The home missions branch of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church is working in my area to ascertain interest in an OPC church plant.

My family is "between churches", so to speak, after spending many years in an evangelical non-denominational church although I've become increasingly disillusioned with it over the past 10 years. We have attended another church in our area for the past two months, and there is much to be said for this body of believers. I am interested in the possibility of this OPC church plant, however, although I'm not sure if we need "one more" church as much as we need to glorify God in the churches already in existence.

Anyone's thoughts?

Thank you,

M Azingrace

M'grace, welcome aboard

When you say, "Evangelical and Reformed Church" do you mean a CREC congregation or something else?

Though we do not need more churches, we do need more biblical churches, so imo you should be open to an OPC church plant. I go to a PCA church so I have no hunt in the OPC plant. Normally, a plant starts by sending a church planter into the area who will start with several small Bible study groups. I would think you could attend one of those studies without fully committing to the plant. Of course, they would not want anyone in the studies to be disruptive to the plant.

Well, what is the state of the churches in your area? Are there Reformed churches that preach the Gospel and the doctrines of grace & worship God as he had commanded in His word? If not, an OPC plant could be a great opportunity.
