Has anyone heard of this new movement:

http://www.wecanknow.com/

It appears we have yet another group predicting the "rapture" of the church. This time it's May 21 and the world will end on October 21. And watch out because they say if you are Left Behind on this one, you have no hope to be saved. It's interesting how they have a way of explaining away all Bible verses that speak about Christ coming like a thief in the night; that no man knows the hour or the day of Christ's return. All the scriptures in the world cannot turn aright people smitten by invincible ignorance and who are oblivious to history.

These "predictions" have happened too many times to count.

Old Wierd Harold.

He's a major nut case , but he retains quite a following. As he will come 2/22.

Oh yeh... as Hitch aptly calls him, "Weird Harold" (Harold Camping), is infamous for his predictions of the coming of Christ, all of which have been obviously false. But he is tenacious and continues to make predictions and to draw a large following. He claims the "church age" is over and thus tells people to leave their churches... Pitiable man, Harold Camping.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22 (KJV) "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

On May 22, I plan to openly mock and scorn these people like the Millerites were after their failed prediction.

Maybe I'll borrow a line from the prophet Elijah.

"You people should pray a little louder to be raptured. Maybe your god is distracted or asleep."

Flights of foolishness should be pilloried, don't you think?

I would join you; however the matter is a little too close to me. I know what it is like to belong to a movement that preaches heresy. I also have family members that are still under the influence of these groups.
But by the grace of God, there go I.

Instead, I want to pray for those who are being deceived by such heretical groups, that they would not only see them for what they are. But God would grant them repentance so they would be drawn to Christ.

I would also join you, but knowing the nature of the followers of such movements, it would be unprofitable. Better to spend Sunday, May 22 "in the public and private exercises of His worship, and in the duties of necessity and mercy." (WCF XXI:8)
