We have already discussed "The Shack" HERE. If for no other reason to reject the book and avoid the movie, they both blatantly violate the 2nd and 3rd Commandments. As is typical, many will 'envision' God from what they see in the movie which is antithetical to the God revealed in Scripture. And they will extol and worship this false god and testify how wonderful it is now with their soul having come to a new and better understanding of this god of The Shack. Isaiah 30:8-11 (ASV) "Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever. For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah; that say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits, get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."
Jeremiah 6:16-19 (ASV) "Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk [therein]. And I set watchmen over you, [saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet; but they said, We will not hearken. Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it."
Joshua 24:15-21 (ASV) "And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah. And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods; for Jehovah our God, he it is that brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and that did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed; and Jehovah drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites that dwelt in the land: therefore we also will serve Jehovah; for he is our God. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah; for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgression nor your sins. If ye forsake Jehovah, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve Jehovah."

Looking back at that thread on the book; I may have missed it, but it didn't mention that the book supports a form of universalism as well as many of the other heresies.

Folks are too desperate for Christian entertainment.... I fall into the trap often with Christian themed music....I'm not going to touch this book or movie.....even CS Lewis' stuff leaves me cold..... I just don't see the connections....but the Shack from what I've heard borders on the absurd.... as far as the Christian tag is concerned. We throw around the term 'Christian' way too loosely these days
Interesting quote from a layperson following a review condemning the film:
"God, the Father, nor God, the Son, Jesus Christ, nor God, the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Bible are in ‘The Shack’ and it will not lead a person to them.
I am still awaiting a response as to why the author intentionally chose to place the confusing doctrinal heresies of Modalism, Panentheism, Universalism, Gnosticism, Patripassianism, Catabolism, Anthropomorphism, Cabbalism, Subordinationism, and Necromancy in “The Shack.†"

Just having the trinity appear in person would be not scriptual at all, and the "Christianity" espoused in there would not be the biblical one...

Yes, as we in the Church want and desire something to be done decent for the Lord, so hook unto the Bible miniseries, Son of God, and even the last temptation of Christ...
