Not so in 99.99% of the U.S. We have the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws or both existent throughout the country. So, in the above example, or even if someone breaks into your domicile, you are allowed by law to use deadly force. These laws even extend to allowing the use of deadly force off your personal property and if the attack is against another person. These two laws are consistent with biblical teaching.
