One of the things I have yet to do is read any of Jonathan Edwards books, other than a few excepts provided by others.
I have also read a few articles and sermons written by Edwards.

One of the things I find with reading older books, is they often take me a lot longer than more modern book to read. This is mainly because I often need to read some sentences a few times to understand what the author is saying. It helps to read out loud, but that still takes longer.

One book I really want to read is Jonathan Edward’s ‘Religious Affections’. However, I would like to read a Reformed book on the same issues, that may be a little easier to read first.
For example, if it was not for JI Packer’s Introductory Essay on John Owen’s ‘The Death of Death in the Death of Christ’, I am not certain I would have understood John Owen’s book.

So my question for the forum is, is there an easy to read book that is easy to read, that is on the same subject as Jonathan Edward’s ‘Religious Affections’?
