I know of someone who is suposedly a "babe' in Christ. but what I don't understand is the fact that this person uses that as an excuse for harboring an unforgiving spirit and bitterness toward any who may sinned or done wrong.
How long can one remain a baby Christian without being expected to grow up? four, five, six, maybe twenty years? I ask this because I know of a person who seems to know a lot of theology, but shows very little fruit of the Spirit. When asked a friend of hers about it I keep getting the same reply, "oh, she's just a baby Christian, you need to over look her faults" I do, but when the baby it self uses that as an excuse, I sort of get to wondering. Are not babys suppose to grow if only a little bit? What good is having knowledge if it never gets to your heart? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks.

I don't know whether she professes falsely, but she needs to be warned of the dire consequences that befall the tree that bears no fruit.

Amen.

You might want to ask her if she realizes the utter sinfuness of her own heart. And ask her if she has realized what it means for God to be perfectly holy.

Would she read a book if you gave it to her? I would recommend Jerry Bridges' The Pursuit of Holiness. Reading Stephen J. Lawson's Made in Our Own Image or John MacArthur's FaithWorks may give you some tips on things to say to her as well.

True godliness is a sincere feeling which loves God as Father as much as it fears and reverences Him as Lord, embraces His righteousness, and dreads offending Him worse than death~ Calvin
