Those are the logical conclusions of DF, but were those actually the way you viewed God as a frustrated helpless deity...?

Not at first, but I really began to see it that way after countless "altar calls" where the preacher is all but begging for someone to respond. That famous picture of Jesus "knocking on the door of your heart" - aside from the flagrant disregard for the Second Commandment - makes the Lord appear weak and needy, as if the "master of the house" would be doing the Lord a favor by allowing the Lord in out of the cold and into the warmth and coziness of the sinner's "heart."

At some point that picture of a wimpy, needy Jesus began to offend me, and I found myself despising altar calls. At first I thought there was something wrong with me, despising altar calls. "What kind of Christian am I to have such feelings of disgust and revulsion during the invitation?"

Now I'm like, "Don't you dis my Lord by making Him into some kind of frustrated, needy wimp!"

Hapless deity might work too.

Growing up hearing ,from everyone you're supposed to respect, everyone, that the Lord is going to return (in rapture) , if not before the service is over tonight, then surely before the year is out. Is hard to understand if not experienced.

Naturally as the years pass questions come up, and just as naturally questions are not allowed.

DF is a dark ,dishonest and harmful and still hurting and hampering the church and I dont mind saying it is a joy to learn that that real answers exist, the Gospels the Psalms and the Lord's Prayer are for the church and....

Im going to try and keep a narrow focus, but you get the idea.

In my case way back when, those kinds of thoughts about God, never even crossed my mind.
Alter calls and the like, were just something that I was too naive to understand where they place God in the equation.
I think it was only after a few years after God showed me the Doctrines of Grace, did I see the ramifications of this kind of thing.
