A dear Reformed friend of mine who is writing his thesis for his masters (not sure what his masters is for, sorry), has asked me to ask in Reformed boards that I participate in for articles related to the following two questions. He told me that these two issues have been wrestled with down through the history of the Church.

1. Does the Son submit to the Father only in His incarnation or does He submit eternally?

2. Is it okay to pray to the Son and the Holy Spirit or should all prayer be addressed to the Father?

Tom, if this is a "dear Reformed friend" of yours, then I am very surprised you haven't had him come to The Highway! What an opportunity you have here to direct your friend to a vast source of study materials both for the nurturing of his own faith and for his academic endeavors. The Highway is always my go to source for whatever I am researching and it amazes me that he hasn't found it for himself yet. By all means, let's welcome him here!

What do we have here on the Discussion Board besides over 20 years of informative discussions (which I am sure your would agree since you have been a member here since April 8, 2001)?

In the Creeds and Confessions forum we have the:
Heidelberg Catechism,
Westminster Larger Catechism,
Belgic Confession,
Creed of Chalcedon

And on the web site itself, there are thousands of sermons, books, articles, and all sorts of resources.

Great idea and I have told him before about the Highway before.
Other than for resources I doubt he would be interested in a discussion board.

I will pass those articles onto him, but I am curious if you have dealt with those particular questions before?

laugh Serves me right, I shouldn't have assumed you would say something on the subject.
Since you have dealt with the questions before, can you comment or at least direct me to something dealing with the questions?

Thanks
Tom

Why not invite your friend to The HIghway? If he is reformed as you say, he might add something to the discussion.

Yes my friend is Reformed Baptist, like myself.
I have invited him to The Highway a few times in the last few years and although he may have made use of some of the rich resources here. I don't think he is the kind of person to spend time of boards such as this one.
In fact, I am not sure he thinks I should be participating on boards like this. Mainly because I tend to spend too much time in them. Especially, when I need to do research before posting. When that happens, I find myself neglecting other responsibilities.
Which I suspect is probably a reason he doesn't go to boards like this. giggle

1. The son submitted to the father in eternity past, he was even sent as the son, and he is recognized as the son at least since creation.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,

Hebrews 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

2. "Is it okay to pray to the Son and the Holy Spirit or should all prayer be addressed to the Father?"

Good question, I know there are prayers to Jesus in the bible.... but to the Holy Spirit idk. I asked the same thing just last week.
