What can you tell me about Republican Senator Ted Cruz?
I had only heard of good things and now many Christians are saying he is “pathetic mental midget, who should walk away from public life.”

Looks like he’s been given lots of $$$ by AIPAC, so you know whose side he’s on.

SovereignGrace It is no secret that Ted Cruz is a Dispensationalist. In that sense, I think he is mistaken. That became very clear when he had a friendly debate with Tucker Carlson. However, I saw that debate and I saw how Carlson took him appart Yet, I never got the feeling of what you said.
My experience with him, was during political debate between Republicans and Democrats. I can’t remember the topic, but what he said made the Democrat look silly. Kind of reminded me of Republicans Senator Kennedy.

@Tom, this is from Grok, so take it with a grain of salt, maybe the whole shaker…
According to available data, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and its affiliated political action committees (PACs) have been significant contributors to Senator Ted Cruz's campaigns. Specific figures vary slightly across sources, but here is a summary based on reliable information:
OpenSecrets reports that for the 2019–2024 election cycle, AIPAC was a top contributor to Ted Cruz, with contributions totaling $562,593 from its PACs, individual members, employees, or owners, and their immediate families. Posts on X and other sources, such as TrackAIPAC, claim that Cruz has received over $1.4 million from pro-Israel lobbying groups, including AIPAC, as of the 2024 election cycle. Some posts suggest this figure could be as high as $1.8 million or $1.9 million over his career, though these numbers are not independently verified by primary sources like the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
For the 2018 election cycle, The Guardian reported that Cruz received $352,894 from pro-Israel lobbying groups, including contributions from AIPAC-affiliated donors.
It’s important to note that AIPAC itself does not directly make campaign contributions, as it is not a PAC, but its members, affiliates, and related PACs do contribute significant funds. The exact amount depends on the election cycle and the source of the data. For the most precise and up-to-date figures, you can check FEC records or OpenSecrets.org, which track campaign contributions.
Note: Figures from X posts should be treated with caution, as they may reflect aggregated totals from multiple pro-Israel groups or include unverified claims. For detailed breakdowns, refer to primary sources like the FEC or OpenSecrets. If you’d like, I can search for more recent data or provide a breakdown of contributions by specific election cycles.

Tom Again, I don't know what sources you spend your time reading, but this is but another "one of those" that you might avoiding. Ted Cruz, politically, is definitely a Conservative and one might say a Constitutional scholar. Most always he has defended the Constitution and voted consistently for conservative values and nominees up for appointments. In committee hearings he has always been strong in defending what is right and excoriated the left and their demented comments and lies. Now, as has been often discussed here... IF a person is not a genuinely regenerated believer and that requirement is demanded of all politicians one would be hard-pressed to cast a vote for anyone. The issue must be, IMO, is the person qualified to do the job? And, is that person committed to upholding the Constitution of the United States... or whatever founding document that person represents? Of course, if the country's official worldview is godless and tyrannical, then of course, this doesn't apply.
