Hi John, You asked: Do you have any references on "putting away" meaning what you wrote? Just Bible commentaries on the passage. None of them cited specific historical sources. The main point of emphasis is that divorcing pagan wives was man's solution, not God's, but it represents an effort by the people to put things right for having taken pagan wives against God's command.
