IF I remember correctly, Dawkins was quoted as saying, "I do not believe in God nor that he exists!". Thus, William was simply using Dawkins' silly denial of God and turning it upon him. As one can plainly see, it is silly indeed. For just because one does not believe something/someone exists this does not prove that whatever is denied doesn't actually exist.
