I might be leading a Bible study on the Gospel of John within the next few months. I would like to know if anyone has recommendations for the best commentary or commentaries on John's Gospel.

Calvin,

I think there is none better than William Hendriksen's The Gospel of John from his "New Testament Commentary" series, (Baker [Grand Rapids, MI]).

Leon Morris also has written a good commentary on John as well, The Gospel According to John (Eerdmans [Grand Rapids, MI])

Then there is the Puritan, George Hucheson (1626-1674) who wrote John in the Banner of Truth "Geneva Series".

Well, two come to mind very quickly Pink's (which is available in HB or computer software or On-Line) and Hendriksen's.

Don Carson has written a well respected commentary. You could also try Bruce Milne in the Bible Speaks Today series from IVP.

James.
