I will let others comment on the report, but the Louisiana Presbytery is a very small Presbytery. There are only 9 churches in the Presbytery.

How unfortunate to loose another group of churches, at least those men who forumulated that report, to heresy. Is this a Presbytery of the PCA?

Well, one thing's for sure. The folks in the PCA can no longer say that it's not really gaining a foothold in the church.

Here is a link to the Presbytery of the Mississippi Valley's response for a different take.

Not being a Presbyterian, just how is this different from what is considered Presbyterian orthodoxy?

Read what was written in that report and it is clear where the two sides differ. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Has it been decided whether or not Doug Wilson's group of churches fall into this FV camp? If so, should we distant ourselves from them?

How would we classify FV. Would they be in the hyper-Calvinist camp, certainly not arminian (but not totally sure about this as they stress the outward expression), or is this completely new?

John,

Doug Wilson is the classic FVisionist. So is the CRE.

We could call them "hyper-covenantal Calvinists," though they certainly don't resemble historical Calvinists.

Here are a few articles:

Back to Basics by Michael Horton

Debating the Federal Vision book review by Anthony Dallison

Covenant Confusion by Richard D. Phillips

Is (CRE) the same as CREC (Confederation of Reformed Evangelical Churches). I have a few forum friends who have gone in that direction.

This just in from PCA's by faith update:

Quote
Two weeks ago we referred to the Louisiana Presbytery's report on Federal Vision that was approved by the Presbytery on July 16, 2005. Seven PCA pastors and seminary professors sent Louisiana Presbytery a communication asking it to reconsider some of its statements. To read this communication (in pdf), go here: http://www.ecalvinbeisner.com/farticles/LA_Pres_Response.pdf.
