Actually, some of the same Scriptures I sometimes use for "eternal security" are my daily bread and butter of who I am in Christ. Eternity does not begin in the future it has already begun. Faith directs me to look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal - 2 Cor 4:18.

[color:blue]Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate me from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake I am killed all the day long; I am accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things I am more than a conqueror through him that loved me. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus my Lord.... For I have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but I have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby I cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with my spirit, that I am the child of God: And if a child, then an heir; an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ; if so be that I suffer with him, that I may be also glorified together - Rom 8:15-17

please notice I change the pronouns and make them personally apply to myself. The Scriptures apply to us PERSONALLY and I read and apply them as such.
FACT:

1. God cannot lie - Titus 1:2
2. I am a Son of God - John 1:12.
3. Despite who or what I was and sometimes behaved like, I am NOW adopted, not because of ME, but because of HIM
4. I am forgiven - my sins are in the sea of forgetfulness and I see the sign that says no fishing, boating, trolling, or swimming allowed.[/LIST] You know all this above (and much more here could be said and expanded upon). My personal victory does not lie in me first and foremost, but in Him, who is at the right hand of God Almighty. IN other words, I take my mind off myself and put it where is should have been in the first place--in Him (thus, I am involved in the process, but He remains first and foremost, the conquerer and victor of my life and daily living).

I pray this helps.
