Those of us - especially former Charismatics - who insist that the charismata ceased centuries ago and served a very specific purpose for a very specific generation (see Matthew 23:29-28), are accused by Charismatics of "creating division" over the issue.

But in fact it's the Charismatics who foster division by creating a distinction between "full" gospel and what - "partial" gospel(?). Those that "have it" and those that don't. Awww, pity the poor "partial gospel" people who don't have the "full" experience and knowledge of God!

It is nothing less than neo-Gnosticism, and is characterized by the same elitism and condescension that the Gnostics of old held, with all claims of their "secret special insight" uncommon to ordinary "head-knowledge only" disciples of Jesus.

My very first exposure to "Charismania" as a pre-teen was in an FGBMFI meeting. I was awestruck and seduced by the "super-spirituality" and false intimacy they displayed.
