It reminds me of when I worked in a Elementary School, the Principal used to compliment my work on occasion, but then he would add something like "you are much better than the last guy who did your job." I happened to know the last guy and he is my supervisor; whom I like.
Kind of takes away from the compliment doesn't it?

By the way, why would I care about the USA? Simply because Canada and the USA are our closest neighbours and what happens in the USA effects Canada. No, I can't vote in the USA, but that does not mean I shouldn't care.

Tom, I have a Folder on my Bookmarks bar labeled "News" and in that folder I have collected online news sources by which I can counterbalance the predominant, mainstream news media. Some I use are:

https://www.newsbusters.org/
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/
http://www.washingtontimes.com/
http://www.oann.com/
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/
http://drudgereport.com/

Try using those sites and get familiar with them and you'll find that none are perfect all the time, but you'll have a way to compare news reports. If you scroll down the DrudgeReport you'll find many commentators and I'd recommend checking the following:

Byron York, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, Ann Coulter, Pat Buchanan
